2012 flag-bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP,) Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has called on the ruling party—National Democratic Congress—and politicians to desist from what he described as “unnecessary politics.”

“It is imperative for the government to stop the unnecessary politics and get to work to solve the myriad problems facing Ghanaians,” Dr. Nduom advised.

According to him, the country could surmount all its current problems if leaders, particularly politicians who find themselves in power, would first make Ghana their priority in all the things they do.

Expressing his belief in Ghana and how he was prepared to improve the lot of several Ghanaians, he praised Ghanaian entrepreneurs for standing firm and investing their monies in what he described as“rough economic times”stressing that Ghana would witness a “stronger and more prosperous economy in 2015.

In a terse statement posted on his facebook wall on the eve of the New Year, the PPP flag-bearer also under scored the need for the governing NDC to work and solve the myriad problems Ghanaians were saddled with in 2014.

He, however, decried the state of the energy situation in the country, saying “it is a major disincentive to businesses and investors in Ghana.”

He added in the statement: “There is an enthusiastic army of young men and women who believe Ghana deserves better. Ghanaians want food to eat, they want a home to live in, they want good health and safe roads, they want the best education for their children, and they want good jobs.”

The astute politician pledged to fight to move Ghana away from the maintenance of mediocrity, the culture of indiscipline, “the constant failure of leadership and the cruelty of resource mismanagement.”
