Mr. West is in the building once more! After a six-year hiatus from the show, Kanye West is set to make his big return to the Grammy Awards this weekend.

The "Bound 2" rapper, 37, was added to the lineup for this coming Sunday's 57th Annual Grammy Awards. West will perform twice during the star-studded show, including taking the stage with Beatles great Paul McCartney and Rihanna — with whom he recently collaborated for the single "FourFiveSeconds."

West's choice to attend the show, let alone perform on the Grammys stage, is a surprising one. He has made his distaste for the Grammys wildly known in recent years and hasn't attended one of the awards shows since 2009's 51st Annual Grammy Awards.

Kim Kardashian's husband was nominated during his Grammy hiatus in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and won awards at the 2010, 2012, and 2013 shows, but was not present to receive his honors. West's absence has not been a scheduling conflict but an apparent choice, as he is not a fan of the show.

West included the awards show in a mid-show rant in London in February 2013, when he targeted the music awards amidst other grievances.

"I hate business people," West began at the time. "People get on the phone with me and tell me: 'What kind of business can you do, though? What type of business are you doing? What's the numbers? How much did you sell? What's the radio spins? How much shampoo can you sell with your face on it and s--t?' Remind me again why we in this s--t. Can you remind me again why we in this s--t? Since when [is] making music about getting rich? Since when [is] making art about getting rich?... Remind me again why we in this s--t. Remind me again why the Grammys couldn't suck my d--k."

While he will be taking the stage at Los Angeles' Staples Center to perform, West may also address the crowd if he wins one of the two awards he is nominated for. The father to tot North West got two nominations for "Bound 2": Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Charlie Wilson and Best Rap Song.
When West attended his last Grammy Awards in February 2009, he had just released his fourth studio album, 808s & Heartbreak. He performed twice at the show: playing "American Boy" with Estelle and "Swagga Like Us" with T.I., Jay Z, M.I.A., and Lil Wayne.
