The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sent its best wishes to the over 268,000 candidates of this year’s West African Senior Schools Certification Examinations (WASSCE), which began on Monday, March 30.

A statement signed by Youth Organiser Sammi Awuku acknowledged the “fighting spirit” of the candidates in an era of loadshedding.

“Coinciding with arguably the worst power crises ever to have hit the country, the youth wing doffs off its hat for the thousands of students who have endured, showed zeal and such tenacity of purpose to confront the all-important examination which will usher them into higher realms of learning.”

The party admonished the candidates to resist the temptation of indulging in examination malpractices.

“We believe with the hard work and the many candles lit, you will emerge successful and progress to join build the Ghana we can all be proud of.”

The examinations are scheduled to end on Thursday, May 14.
