Three Upper East regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)  were attacked on Thursday at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital when they went to commiserate with the family of  the late regional chairman, Adams Mahama who died at the hospital.

Their vehicles were smashed by some angry youth who accused the executives of feuding with the chairman before his death.

They are wondering why the executives are showing concern over the death of the chairman after his death.

The timely intervention of a combined team of military and Policemen averted what could have been a bloody clash at the hospital.

A constituency executive of the party in the region, confirmed the incident to Citi News on condition of anonymity

The victims include both the first Vice Chairman of the party in the region, the Navrongo constituency and Bolgatanga constituency chairmen.

Some unknown persons poured acid on the Upper East Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahama Adams yesterday and died from his injuries this morning.

His death was confirmed by his relative and son of the Late Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Farouk Mahama.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Farouk Mahama said: “I am with a heavy heart this morning, Adams, our only surviving hope in the family is gone and we are very sad and we are all in shock.”
