The Frenchman is expected to become a €100million player this summer , with the Italian champions ready to cash in on his potential and Europe’s richest clubs all ready and waiting to bid.
And Barca, understood for months to have been frontrunners, have now admitted they’re after the 22-year-old.
“Pogba is a great player and is one of our objectives,” admitted Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
“We are interested in him, but I can’t say anything else.”
Pogba was on the losing side in Berlin on Saturday night as Barcelona won the treble.
But despite their glorious success in his first season, Luis Enrique admitted that he still could leave the club.
Bartomeu, however, was in no mood for exit talk, and claimed there is no reason the treble-winning coach shouldn’t continue at the club and that this was the start of another era of trophies at the Nou Camp.
“[Luis Enrique] has done a magnificent job. The confidence that Zubizarreta has given him has worked and Luis, having won the treble, confirmed what we suspected - that he is a very good coach.
“He has a year on his contract and I don’t see any impediment to him staying, above all with such a young squad, this is the start of a winning era at Barca.”
