Ghanaian musician, Milla Joseph Odartey Lamptey, famously called Gasmilla says Sarkodie's ‘New Guy’ song is no match for his hit single ‘Telemo’.

Gasmilla in response to an article with the title “#LetMeExplain: To All the People Who Dislike Sarkodie’s “New Guy”; Please Stick To Gasmilla’s Telemo” placed on Yfm, an Accra-based radio station's website, told Hitz FM’s Entertainment This Week's host Mzgee that he found the comparison of the two song mischievous.

“With no disrespect to Sarkodie, I don't understand why people are even comparing the two songs, ‘Telemo’ is Afro beat and his is hiphop. So I mean if you should put both of them to a test at any gathering be it a big gathering or small gathering his would be the song people will listen to and mine will be the song people will bump to.”

The ‘Telemo’ hit maker claimed that his song is being targeted because it is currently topping all music charts in the country.

He said, the expectations of many to see Sarkodie's ‘New Guy’ with Ace Hood outdo ‘Telemo’ on the charts after the unprecedented hype has failed.

“They were thinking Sarkodie’s ‘New Guy’ with Ace Hood on it would have shot from nothing to number one and it is not doing that yet so I think it is the reason they are comparing it to the biggest song at the moment which is my song ‘Telemo’.”

However, entertainment critic, Zakia maintains that the article was not in bad taste but rather to signify that Sarkodie's ‘New Guy’ just like Gasmilla's ‘Telemo’ is targeted at a different audience.

Author of the article, Abdulai Issahak refused to comment on the controfversy but pleaded for time to respond.
