The legal saga between Lil Wayne and Birdman’s Cash Money Records takes another turn. Wayne has reportedly filed new legal documents suggesting his longtime label also owes Young Money artists Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga money.

TMZ reports:

Lil Wayne now claims in his bitter lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, he has letters from Drake and Tyga’s people claiming they got stiffed out of a fortune. And Nicki’s people say in a separate letter her producers also got shortchanged by Young Money, and Wayne says it’s Cash Money’s responsibility to pay producers.

Earlier this year, Wayne sued Cash Money for unpaid royalties and album advances. Wayne’s Young Money imprint was named as a plaintiff in the case as well. YM wants CMR to pay for the cost of legal actions from artists asserting they are owed money by the company.

According to the original documents, a “2009 Drake Letter Amendment” was agreed upon to give YM one-third of the net profits from the sale of Drake’s solo recordings. The suit also revealed Wayne and Cash Money agreed to a 51%-49% split over Wayne’s Young Money imprint.

Wayne has publicly demanded to be let out of his contract with Cash Money. Young Money’s Tyga has also been vocal about not receiving payments from Birdman’s company. In addition, other individuals in the industry such as Turk, Bangladesh, Jas Prince, and Wendy Day have filed lawsuits against CMR for unpaid services.

According to TMZ, Cash Money argues Wayne and Young Money are the ones in breach of contract. The label claims YM was supposed to produce 21 albums over 7 years and only 13 projects were released.

If Wayne and Young Money are able to split from CMR, Birdman has made it clear he will not let platinum-selling acts Drake and Nicki Minaj go with Weezy so easily. The two stars reportedly have distribution deals with Cash Money, and in 2013 Birdman told DJ Whoo Kid, “Drake down with the team for life. He made that commitment when we did another situation.”
