As reported by Sir Noble, a student Journalist, the recent 16th Congregation held on December 5 2016 at the Wa campus of the university premises, three students made history when they attained first class honours after their four year bachelors' degree course. This is the first time in eight years that such an extra- ordinary feat has been achieved on Wa campus of the institution.
Aworo Seidu Solomon of the faculty of Integrated Development Studies was the overall best student of Wa campus after he attained 4.66 accumulated GPA score. The immediate past president of UDS WA PENSA and student from the school of Business and Law, Elder Richmond Boateng together with Maxwell Asante of the Faculty of Integrated Development Studies were also other two students who had first class honours of 4.50 and 4.61 accumulated GPA score respectively.
Delivering his speech during the 16th congregation, the overall best student of Wa campus made it known that the university for development studies is the only institution that irrespective of the course one enrolls to read, the person would eventually come out with an added advantage as a researcher and a developer at the end of the four years.
He added that students of the institution have mostly not been getting first class not because they are not brilliant but because of the pace of academic work which has even made some people refer to the school jovially as "university for difficult studies" and a second class student of UDS is a potential first class student in other sister universities in Ghana.
He finally edged the current students to work hard and worship their God well to excel in their academic work.
