SSA employees to appear for R17m theft

Pretoria - Two State Security Agency (SSA) employees implicated in the theft of R17m from the agency are expected to appear at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

It will be the first time the pair appear alongside each other in the dock.

William Mmotong, who is a driver at the SSA, appeared in court last week where his case was postponed to allow him to join his co-accused, Khayalethu Mgatyelwa.

Mgatyelwa is a security officer at the agency.

It was alleged the men stole millions, all in foreign currency including dollars and euros, between Christmas and Boxing Day from a safe at the agency's Pretoria headquarters.
