The CEO of God Is Love Fun Club, a micro finance that is reported to have duped tens of thousands residents of the Brong Ahafo region,  Madam Monica Afriyie AKA Auntie korkor was denied access to her acount at a UniBank branch last Thursday,  when she tried withdrawing some amount of money to settle her clients in the region.

DayzEntertainment.com has learnt that even though the Bank Of Ghana had earlier lifted a moratorium that was placed on the club yet Auntie Korkor and her counsel,  James Marshall  were highly frustrated when their bankers,UniBankGh.ltd, informed them that the High Court- Commercial Division in Sunyani had made an Order on 12th February, 2016 for the preservation of monies belonging to Monica Afriyie and God is Love fun club until the final determination of matters pending before it.

A number of Ghanaians, especially in the Brong Ahafo and the northern regions, have fallen victim to a bunco scheme by the micro finance companies and lost their deposits in 2015.

Millions of cash deposits of customers of the DKM, Jastar Motors, God is Love Fun Club, Perfect Edge and others in the illegal savings business in the affected regions were locked up, following the BoG’s move in 2015 to stop the companies from operations due to their violations of the savings and banking laws and regulations.

Dr Henry Kofi Wampah, Governor of the BoG, said the Central Bank could not be blamed for not monitoring the crisis after a number of investors had lost their deposits.

Briefing Parliament on the extent of BOG to monitor operations of the microfinance companies, earlier this week, the Governor said the Bank could not be blamed because the law says they should undertake field visits once in a year.

God Is Love Fun Club  is a micro-finance company with its head office at Nkoranza and several branches in  Sunyani,  Wenchi, Techiman, Sampa, Drobo, and Dormaa.

God is love fun club and Monica Afriyie have about Ghc 63,000,000  in their account at the UNIBANK GH.ltd, but several law suits on their account prevented them from going into the account.

Meanwhile, reports from Sunyani indicate that the lawyer for Monica Afriyie and God Is Love Fun Club is convincing some of the aggrieved but needy customers to accept 50% of their original deposits which some customers have disregarded with death threats.

These customers have accused the counsel for the defendant for defrauding them and engaging in conflict of interest.

Some customers have kicked against the 50% move by the counsel for Monica Afriyie and others.

On Friday, the Counsel for Monica Afriyie prayed the High Court,Commercial Division in Sunyani to adjourn all matters relating to God is love until 22nd  March for hearing.

Meanwhile, The life of the Member of Parliament for the Nkoranza North Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Major Derek Oduro, who has been very vocal on the matter and  putting pressure on stakeholders of the financial sector and government to ensure that the customers get their monies back, is in danger after he received a letter threatening to kill him, if he does not stop fighting for his constituents whose investments have been swindled by the DKM microfinance company and other micro finance companies.
