GHANA POLITICS - A brother of  Alhaji Collins Dauda, the member of Parliament for Asutifi south in the Brong Ahafo Region, is said to have  allegedly led a group of heavily built men to beat a polling station agent at Nkaseim yesterday ,during the Limited Voter Registration exercise.

Naaba Abdullai reportedly marched the men believed to be NDC macho men to the Presbyterian School and beat a polling agent for the New Patriotic Parry (NPP) at the registration centre after  the victim  had challenged a young man who could not give accurate information about his residence in the process.

An eye witness said Naaba and the macho men  arrived in two Nissan Pick UP trucks some few minutes after the boy was challenged, and beat up Amakye the polling agent who suggested that the boy be challenged.

The men who were ordered by the brother of the minister for Local Government and Rural Development, mercilessly gave Amakye multiple slaps and punches that took him to the ground at the full glare of onlookers and EC officials.

Naaba allegedly said nobody could arrest him for his act in the region, when a chief Inspector from the Police station at Nkaseim arrived to enquire what had really ensued.

No arrest has been made yet, says Cecilia Amoah, one time MP and NPP's parliamentary candidate for the area.

She added that the macho men were seen  with Naaba driving in town  and intimidated some people who wanted to take part in the  registration process at Esienkyem,a community in the constituency.

However,Mr Maxwell Frimpong,a registration officer at the  Presbyterian School registration centre at Nkaseim, confirmed that the centre was characterized by chaos throughout yesterday which partly affected their work.

Meanwhile, fear has gripped the  people in the area, affecting the turnout of the registration exercise negatively.
