I am one person who believes a DJ is also a PRESENTER.
By playing music, you are presenting songs in a certain order to an audience.
But I hate BPM DJs. A good DJ must be able to think outside the box. Playing music on radio or anywhere goes beyond snycing BPMs. A good DJ must present his songs on various patterns: themes of songs, era of songs, artistes, genre etc.
Some of our DJs don't do research on songs they play. They drop one song in player A and lazily lift another song of same or closer BPM into player B and pronto they are on!
It is about time our DJs learnt that being a DJ is not different from a news reporter ferreting for news items. Read, search for good music, listen to music of any form, pay attention to lyrics of songs and communicate with these songs to your audience. You may not open a mic to talk but how well you arrange your playlist tells how well you communicate with the people listening to you.
