The District Chief Executive for Asutifi North,Hon Eric Addai, has debunked allegations circulating that his wife was involved in  organising some macho men who allegedly assaulted the MP for Asutifi North constituency ,Hon,Joseph Dahah.

He said he is a law abiding person and a respecter of human life so there is no way he or his wife could have involved themselves in the odious act.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi North Constituency , Joseph Benhazin Dahah claims he was ‘severely’ beaten by thugs made up of the brother of the Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Collins Dauda at Ntotroso.

Mr. Daha said, he was there chatting with his party agents and asking them how the exercise was going when  Mr. Dauda’s brother came with some people and attacked him.

“He (Naaba) was the first person to slap me".

“One of them pulled out a knife on me,”he added

Soon after the incident, rumours circulated that the wife of the Asutifi DCE, Mary Addai, had driven some of the accused men to the centre to carry out the alleged assault.

But Speaking at an assembly meeting in Kenyasi on Wednesday, the  DCE cum parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress  in the Asutifi North constituency condemned the immoral act of the macho men and said his wife was not involved in the said act.

"I have been married to my wife for over twenty years, she has never handled a gun before....I don't understand why they say she was behind these",he added.

" She could not have done that to our MP. Though we have settled the matter, my wife knows nothing about this".

Mr Addai has since called for all and sundry in the constituency to maintain peace and order as the EC continues with the Biometric  registration.
