The management of Kumawood Multimedia the proud owners and organizers of the annual KUMAWOOD AKOBEN FILM FESTIVAL AND AWARDS (KAFF), an awards ceremony which has successfully rewarded meritorious stakeholders of the movie industry in Ghana for the past five consecutive years, regretfully announce the postponement of the 2016 edition
KAFF Awards which has been held during the Christmas yuletide has been postponed in consultation with sponsors and jury due to the following reasons:
The postponement was necessary due to the demise of the Queen Mother of the Ashanti Kingdom and the observation of the cultural law, which bans loud music or any form of merriment which unfortunately coincides with the original date of the event.
Again as the country goes to polls on December 7th, attention is geared towards a successful and peaceful election and the tendency of a possible runoff which can extend into the original date of the event will marred the beauty of the event.
The new date for the anticipated KAFF Awards will be 7th April 2017.
As a brand that is dedicated to excellence, it is of paramount importance that we produce an experience that leaves an ineffable impression on our participants, audience and supporters and we have every intention of doing just that this coming event.
We solemnly apologize for any inconvenience that this change may have caused and we thank you for your continued support.
Again we will like to use this opportunity to thank the media for your unflinching support to KAFF Awards all these years and we salute your professionalism and dedication to the course of Kumawood Multimedia
