The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the 2016 general election, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, National Chairman, Mr Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, are in Korea to represent the party at this year’s International Democrat Union (IDU) Party Leaders Meeting.
The meeting is being held in Seoul from today, November 19 to Nov. 21, 2014. They will be away for a week.
IDU is a conservative international alliance of political parties, headquartered in Oslo, Norway. The IDU is a working association of over 80 conservative, Christian democrat and like-minded political parties of the centre and centre right.
It is chaired by Mr John Howard, former Prime Minister of Australia.
The IDU provides a forum where political parties, holding similar beliefs, come together and exchange views on matters of policy and organisational interest.
From this, they act cooperatively, establish contacts and present a unified voice toward the promotion of centre-right policies around the globe.
A statement signed by Mr Agyepong said during their absence, Mr Freddie Blay (1st National Vice-Chairman) will act as National Chairman, while Mr Sammy Crabbe (2nd National Vice-Chairman), will act as General Secretary.
