Udinese Midfield Emmanuel Agyeman Badu says 32 years without a major trophy doesn’t befit a football country like Ghana.

The ex-Kumasi Asante Kotoko player therefore assured the country that the jinx would be broken in 2015. Ghana last won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982 in Libya.

Badu, who captained the Black Stars to beat Togo 3-1 in the final AFCON 2015 qualifier, said Ghana would lift the Africa Cup in 2015.

“Thirty-two (32) years is a long period for Ghana to go without winning a major trophy,” the Black Stars player lamented.

He stated emphatically that the Black Stars’ ultimate goal is to lift the AFCON trophy next year.

Badu admitted that conquering Africa would not be a simple task for the Black Stars, saying it demands hard work.

He gave the assurance that the Black Stars would train hard and plan well to win the trophy and bring the smiles back on the faces of Ghanaians.
