The Ghana Airport Company has confirmed to tv3network that an Ethiopian airline, ET-AQV cargo plane has crash landed at the Aviance cargo area near the Kotoka International Airport.

3 crew members on board have been rushed to the 37 Military hospital for treatment following injuries sustained as a result of the crash.

The aircraft which caught fire was doused by the Fire Service officers at the airport who were on standby around 11: 05am on Saturday January 10, 2015 when it finally came to a halt.

An eyewitness at the airport reports that police personnel are at the scene of the crash. It is not established whether or not some casualties were recorded. The incident has however been blamed on poor visibility and the harmattan weather.

The aircraft was from Lome to Accra. The Ghana Airport Company has however assured that the crash has not affected business activities at the Airport.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency recently warned airlines and drivers to be cautious of the weather which has been quite dusty and foggy making visibility difficult.
