Fikile Mbabula, South Africa’s Minister of Sports and Recreation is talking tough ahead of the game against the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday, January 27, at the Estadio De Mongomo, Mongomo.

The tough talking minister said, South Africa will beat Ghana on Tuesday, even if Ghanaians decide to come to the stadium with their juju.

“They can bring their juju on Tuesday, we will beat them”. The Minister said.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Mbabula said, though his side has not recorded a win in the competition, they are confident of beating Ghana because they have the best of players in the competition.

“We have a very young team, which is here to gather experience for the future and the match against Ghana will be one of such platforms to test their strength.

“I’m sorry Ghana will have to lose on Tuesday. We will play them with all our strengths and I’m sure we shall come out good after the game”. Mbabula said.

The Sports Minister is however not perturbed if South Africa crushes out of the competition at the group stages.

“If we exit after the group stages, it means we played against the best teams in the competition.

“Apart from Senegal, Algeria and Ghana have both been at the World Cup last year and therefore if we fail at this stage it means we played against the best and lost”. He added.

According to the minister, their intention was not to win the competition but use it as  a platform to give players the exposure and experience for the future.

“We are actually targeting the 2018 World Cup and so we are using the AFCON to prepare our players in other to get the best out of them in future.
