Maxwell Konadu has explained that his time schedule wouldn't permit him to take up the Kotoko vacant coaching job.
The Porcupine Warriors instructed their head coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani to proceed on a 4-month leave, following a run of poor results.
The Ghana champions in their hunt for a new coach started talks with David Duncan, former Hearts of Oak coach, but a section of the Kotoko board feel Maxwell Konadu is the right man for the job, because he knows the team very well.
However, the Black Stars assistant coach has turned down the offer, after his former club wrote to his current employers, the Ghana Football Association to permit him replace Mas-ud Didi Dramani.
“Kotoko wrote to the Ghana FA, seeking their approval to allow me coach the club, but I decided not to take up the job, after I was told, because my time won’t permit me,” Maxwell Konadu told Fox fm.
The 42-year-old trainer guided Kotoko to win the 2011-12 league title, before he was appointed as assistant coach of the male senior national football team of Ghana in 2012.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently lying 13 on the league log with 10 points in 9 games and have gone 5 consecutive matches without a win.
The Ghana Premier League continues in the week-end, with Kotoko making a date with Medeama at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
