'I'll see to you at half-time': Doctor makes patients wait while he watches Barcelona match

Mr Olarte, who had suffered a deep cut to the leg with a piece of glass, illustrates his injury before saying: "Doctor, sorry to bother you. I've cut my leg with a piece of glass."

Appearing unconcerned, Barraza replies: "Can't you wait until 5.30...5.45pm... it'll be ok."

With their all-South American attacking trio of Neymar, Messi and Luis Suarez, Barcelona are hugely popular in Argentina.

When Mr Olarte then moves to sit in a chair more directly in his view, the doctor says "Wait a minute. When the first half finishes I'll see you, ok?"

He laughs and replies: "No problem doctor”

To make matters worse, Dr Barraza was also needed to attend to a man with a broken leg.

In the video, his wife can be seen entering the doctor's room in the background and trying to get his attention, but he completely ignores her.

Bosses at Joaquín Castellanos have said they are investigating the incident, El Tribunal in Argentina reports.

Mr Olarte told the paper he didn't want the doctor to lose his job, but said he should be punished.

"I don't want him to lose his job, but there should be some kind of punishment, to set an example and so it doesn't happen again," he said.

"You can't work with such little interest in an area so sensitive as health, where you have people's lives in your hands.

"This is what annoyed me more than anything, his indifference to someone who was hurt."
