Several years ago, these artists were on top form. Their songs were enjoyed  by the old and the young. They achieved the highest level of fame. However, no one knew what happened and they decided to stop music all together and live another kind of life. Some became Christians. Others Muslims and some stopped singing at all. Let me take this moment to introduce some personalities who were once "gurus" in Hiplife music and why they left their career.

1. Lord Kenya:
Years ago when I was still a small boy, Lord Kenya used to be the "Tupac" of Ghana. He could rap from hours to hours on stage. He was a household name. Some of his songs at that time included: "sika mpo fa ne ho", "born again", and others.

Surprisely, the hitmaker was once captured and detained  by a supernatural force which most Christians will call the Holy Spirit. After weeks of been detained, Lord Kenya decided to change from his former ways and quit all those worldliness. Lord Kenya confessed to have been smoking what we term "wee", sleeping with countless women.

Today, Lord Kenya is now a Pastor. He has preached in several places which includes public universities like UDS, Wa Campus, Knust, Legon and several places. In fact, Lord Kenya has suprised many people. According to Kenya, He is helping to pull some of his friends who were still in that kind of life to where he is now.

2. Morris Babyface:
Morris is a sound engineer and for many years, he has produced a lot of artist. At first, he used to produced most artists in the Hiplife genre. He was a good singer too so he used to feature them. Actually, I don't know what happened. Perhaps, He decided to quit it all together. Surprisely, Morris confessed to have slept with over 200 girls. Hahaha! But all the same, its news.  Today, He is not much into the Hiplife songs but all I hear him do is sing Gospel music. For example, He has featured popular Gospel singer Esther Smith several times. Example of songs include: "m'ay3 nhyira" and others. He has also featured several artists too.

3. Yaw Siki:
Whoever has never heard Yaw Siki rap before is actually a kid or new to music. This guy was a young rapper who got promoted. For example, he featured Sarkodie on "Ye Balle" and his own "3y3 onua". All these tracks were hit songs. He was very popular especially for his style of rap.
Unfortunately on his side, He had a fatal accident which could have killed him. However he survived it and repented of sins of pornography, "wee" smoking and all those sorts. Today, Yaw Siki sings but its purely Gospel. According to his testimony, it was God who saved him from death and for that matter will not go back to his formal life.

4. Ofori Amponsah:
This man was known for his great Highlife and Hiplife style of singing. Ofori too changed from his former ways and became a Pastor. However, just a month ago, He decided to come back into music again. This time, He promised to sing about "Love" and nothing else. According to him, God is love and wants us to live as such. For this reason, Ofori Amponsah dropped his first single with Sarkodie "Alewa". Right after this song, he received much brutalities from a lot of people. People went ahead to name him "Pastor Alewa".
Ofori Amponsah is still keen with his work as a Pastor and has charged his critics to come to his place for salvation. Ofori Amponsah is on the highest note of winning "The Hiplife song of the year".

These are the top four people we can write about for now. Do you know former musicians or artists who decided not to do music again? Just hit us and we will add more. Thanks for reading and do share.
