Ghana Music Awards Now "Private Music Awards" - Pope Skinny

The latest Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has caused a lot of stir among musical artists in Ghana. The latest to speak on this is Pope Skinny. On a post on his private Facebook account, the host of the "Kasahari level" was quick to lay the blames on new artists who rather goes after hype on Big Stages instead of working their bodies out.

"I SWEAR GHANA ARTIST YOU PEOPLE DEY LOVE HYPE TOOO MUCH.THAT BE WHY ALL THIS THINGS DEY HAPPEN.NOW GUD MUSIC DNT COUNT NO MORE"

Pope also revealed that,  long ago, a musical artist was only selected based on the number of albums acquired

"BACK IN THE DAY. YOU NEED TO HAVE AN ALBUM BEFORE YOU GET THE CHANCES TO PERFORM ON ALL THIS BIG STAGES, BUT NOW U NEED A SINGLE HIT TO EVEN PERFORM OUTSIDE GHANA"

He concluded by stating that, the Ghana Music Awards was now an individual affair.
