Ghana news: Security operatives have stormed the Weija residence of Capt (rtd) Edmund Koda, the head of security of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo.

The operatives believed to be mostly Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and police personnel raided the house around 4pm on Thursday, Starrfmonline.com can confirm.

Starrfmonline.com can also disclose that a separate operation was carried out in the evening at the Danquah Institute offices of Perry Okudzeto, the deputy director of communication of the largest opposition party in Ghana.

The raid is coming on the heels of the recent arrest of three South African ex-police officers who are currently in Ghana at the behest of the NPP.

Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis (rtd), 54; Warrant Officer Denver Dwayhe, 33, and Captain Mlungiseli Jokani, 45 have pleaded not guilty after being charged with unlawful training and false declaration on Thursday.

They were granted bail to the tune of Gh¢20, 000 with two sureties.

The three were arrested for training private security personnel of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo and his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Captain (rtd) Koda and the owner of the EL-Capitano Hotel Captain (rtd) Acquah who were also arrested on Wednesday and released on bail have also been charged.

The three South Africans were arrested at the El Capitano Hotel in Agona Duakwa for allegedly training 15 young men in various security drill and rapid response maneuvers, weapon handling, and VIP protection techniques.
