The Brong Ahafo regional police command says it will involve more female police personnel in many of their activities in the region as a way of empowering them to acquire leadership skills.

The police command believes that the most prominent security concern for  them is  to provide security on the region's highways and various communities  to ensure the safety of the indigenes of the Brong Ahafo and its visitors all the time, using their females in most cases.

The Police Regional commander,DCOP Maxwell Atingane  was speaking at the annual celebration of the West Africa Security Services (WASSA) in Sunyani, last Friday, where he revealed that his new policy for the year was to  see more duties given to  women in the service.

Commending  the police for their hard work and commitment which led to the reduction of crime in the region,DCOP Maxwell Atingane, revealed that their female personnel over the years have not been at the fore of police activities in the region, making it seem women are suppressed in the  police service.

"We need to encourage women to also rise. Most often we tend to suppress them but it is my policy to make sure that women take part actively in whatever we do here to create a difference ..in patrols and other duties, we will encourage them to take part", he stressed.
