Scores of people in the Brong Ahafo Region who deposited immeasurable amount of monies with micro finance company DKM Diamond micro Finance , can now heave a sigh of relief as President John Mahama has assured them their monies could be retrieved.

The President  believes when the clients follow laid down procedures carefully and register their claims with the Registrer General's department ,as liquidation processes commence against the micro finance company, the over three thousand clients  could be given part of their deposits back.

He was speaking on Ghana Broadcasting Corporation's local radio station, Radio B.A.R in Sunyani as part of his three day working tour in the region.

"There is hope for these DKM clients if they register their claims," President Mahama said.

A liquidation process has already begun against DKM to defray the debt owed its defrauded customers.

Prior to the Central Bank putting a freeze on DKM's assets, the total deposit liabilities was GHS 115.2 million as against a cash flow of GHS 10.8 million hence  the initiation of liquidation processes for its defrauded clients.

There have been several agitations by the affected depositors of DKM in the region, as a way to get government's attention, but President Mahama stressed that albeit  there was some lapses on the part of BoG to regulate the activities of the now collapsed DKM Diamond Micro finance yet the swindled clients would get some of their monies back, expressing optimism.

"You know the Bank of Ghana is autonomous... It has a board that regulates its activities so lets all persuade them for there is hope".

On the part of Jastar Motors,Perfect Edge, and God Is Love Fun Club, the president said those institutions said they were fun clubs aimed at helping their group members when the BoG contacted them so affected clients could take them on legally.

" even when the BoG wanted to lift the moratorium on their bank accounts, they pleaded with the bank to stop", President Mahama added.

He also advised that the people should be careful on similar clubs so they are not defrauded again.
