Regional Chairmen of the party took delivery of the 100 motorbikes on Monday December 1, 2014 at Akufo-Addo’s Nima residence.
The bikes were promised by the former Attorney General as his way of saying thank you to the delegates of the party for their show of support in the October 18 presidential primary.
In an open letter to all party members on November 13, 2014, Akufo-Addo, indicated that he had begun “the process of mobilising resources and logistics, ahead of election 2016, for the prosecution of an effective campaign.”
According to him, “in view of this, friends of mine and I have begun the first phase of equipping the party, which will see every region receive ten (10) motorbikes.”
At a short ceremony held at his Nima residence to make the donation, Akufo-Addo assured the Regional Chairmen that this was the beginning of the journey to snatch power from what he described as the “incompetent” John Mahama government, adding that more resources will be made available to every constituency beginning from 2015.
The Upper West Regional Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Abdul Rahaman, on behalf of the Regional Chairmen, thanked Nana Akufo-Addo for fulfilling the pledge he made to them on November 13.
He added that: “We (NPP) have now started on a very good note. I believe that God will help Nana Akufo-Addo so that he will give us more support, and also we pray that God will help us to deliver this time for the NPP and Ghana.”
