Fuse host DJ Skee reported Wednesday that the long-rumored record, which he says is nearly done, will “be released exclusively on Tidal.” While that seems like a big nugget to throw in the middle of a taped segment, Skee prefaced his claim with a reminder that he did report last September that the album was in the works. While it hasn’t been officially announced, hip-hop producer Detail, who worked on the duo’s hit “Drunk in Love,” heavily teased the possibility back in February.
Jay Z’s and Beyoncé’s publicists have yet to respond to EW’s request for comment.
If this were to go down, it might be just the thing needed to reinvigorate Tidal. The service’s popularity has significantly dwindled since its March re-launch. BFF Kanye West has even deleted his social media support of it.
