President John Mahama on Friday said Ghanaians must work hard earn a living, rather than expecting government to dole out cash to them.

" We have said we will put money in your pockets, but Let me tell you, no government would ever dash out cash for your upkeep. the Bible even speaks against that.In the Bible, God told Adam and Eve to work hard before they ate, so you have to work before you get money into your pockets."

President Mahama who was speaking at rallies at  Sampa and Drobo in the Jaman North and South districts respectively, as part of his four-day campaign tour of the Brong Ahafo Region said: " Putting money in your pockets mean equipping you to earn a living. That is why my government has established Teacher and Nurses Trainee colleges across the country so those who complete such schools can get jobs and get money to cater for their families."

He also reiterated his government’s desire to prioritise technical and vocational training and education should he get a second term because there is a huge demand for skilled manpower and the many worrying cases of Ghana having to import manpower from abroad.

According to him, that is the reason why government is prioritising technical and vocational education to train more people for industry, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors.

" All these steps are what will put money into your pockets in my next term', he told the cheering crowd.
