margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiskkUCMHvUtgN5n4pbWNb1KKwRBZFtzJV8vA75_PNurHO92POGGncsSK-p4Zu5sSfor_Pt_sKLrty3NtxwgyJek15a-5FllOlMXPw19ndgGofonMHNQ0RmtFYzUp2ZPF1B8U7yaOOb-N9q/s640/NKRUMAH+CIRCLE+INTERCHANGE+%25282%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div> President John Dramani Mahama is expected to inaugurate the Kwame Nkrumah Circle flyovers later today, a statement from the transport ministry has stated.<br /> <br /> To officially open the interchange, the Brazilian construction firm, Quieiroz Galvao, will hand over the project to the government this before dusk.<br /> <br /> The project that was funded with a loan from the Brazilian government, is expected to ease traffic and reduce travel time for commuters.<br /> <br /> The construction of the interchange was necessitated by necessary  heavy traffic at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, which handled over 82,000 vehicles from the arterial roads and their intersections daily.<br /> <br /> The project which  involves detailed engineering and construction of the old circle into a three-tier interchange, includes a drainage, terminals, pedestrian walkways and  landscape for easy accessibility of the facility.<br /> <br /> It also includes about a 1.2-kilometre flyover from the Busy Internet end of the Ring Road to the Awudome Cemetery, near the Obetsebi-Lamptey Roundabout, with street lights.<br /> <br /> A statement from the ministry of transport reveals that the commissioning is aimed at reducing congestion so as to allow the free flow of traffic.<br /> <br /> It also said drivers of big trucks are being advised to observe the height restrictions when using the Interchange, and also tasked traders to transact businesses at authorized locations.<br /> <br /> Some economists have said the interchange when opened to traffic,would stimulate local economic growth.<br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both;
