Many
supporters of the club had called for the head of the coach after the
Porcupine Warriors lost their week seven league fixture to AshantiGold
SC by 2-1.
The red family had already lost
the 6th-week encounter against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the
Baba Yara Sports Stadium by a lone goal. However, when the Acting
General Manager of the club was contacted amidst the speculations, he
unequivocally said it is u true.
Speaking
exclusively to Sportscrusader.com, Opoku Nti said, “This is absolutely
untrue and I must say a section of the fans are only perpetrating this.
It is true that supporters are not happy with the performance of the
club in the league after seven matches but we must not forget the other
clubs too are preparing. We have won the league for three consecutive
seasons and every club that plays us now play above themselves. We also
have a couple of new players in the team so we must relax. As for the
sack of Didi Dramani, it is not true”.
The
1982 Afcon winner also added that Didi is currently the best coach in
the country and that the fans must be patient for some time as things
are bound to change soon. “We must not forget that Didi is currently the
best coach in the country and the fans must try to be a little patient.
Things will change soon,” Opoku Nti added.
Asante
Kotoko are currently 10th on the 7-week old league table with 8 points
out a possible 21 having recorded 2 wins 2 draws and 3 losses.
